Creating A Closet Of Self Care

Hey Dolls! Our owner Amanda recently sat on the Make 2019 The Year Of You panel and discussed her belief that style is such an important part of self-care! You can read her thoughts on that here! We wanted to walk you through a few simple ways to create a closet that is full of looks that will empower and motivate you!!

  1. Plan Ahead. We know, we know. You’re supposed to have a 6-step nightly skincare routine and now we’re asking you to pick out clothes before you go to sleep, too. Keep it simple! Just think of one or two pieces that will serve as the shell of your look. Then in the morning, you can get creative with the accessories and you won’t be panicked throwing shoes and digging through a pile of clothes on your bed. (We’ve all been there!)
  2. Be Organized. Dolls, watching the Konmari Method show on Netflix doesn’t count as getting organized. It’s time to do the work. Get in that closet and find those pieces that spark joy and give them the space and order they deserve. Pulling an outfit together is so much easier when you know where everything is. You won’t be rushed because you couldn’t find that one black tank. And because of that…you’ll be more comfortable and confident!
  3. Change It Up. Maybe you aren’t feeling confident in your clothes because they simply don’t represent who you are anymore! We go through so many phases and stages of life and certain articles of clothing and trends just don’t travel will with us through those phases. Dolls, this is where we can help! Book a Style Session with us, and you can come in and we’ll meet about what looks best fit your life and what you’re going to feel your absolute best in! You can read all about our Style Sessions here!

A Nod to the 70's

A Nod to the 70's

If you ever wanted to spice up your denim or basic outfit pieces, consider embroidery. This trend is sweeping the nation... and our store. It's a great nod to the 70's and we love it.

Try embroidered shirts:

Blue Floral Embo Tank ($40)

If you're new to to the embroidery game, starting out with this simple tank could be a good jumping off point. This subtle side embroidery is just enough to make you go, "Oh, I like that, MORE PLEASE!" The embroidered sides on this simple tank make it pairable with jeans, short, and skirts. We love it.

Not a shirt gal? Try an embroidered dress:

Westwood Off Shoulder Embroidery Dress ($48)

We're in love! We're in love, and we don't care who knows it! If you feel like you've got a pretty good handle on this whole embroidery trend, this is the dress for you. It's flattering, trendy, and perfect for summer.

Take it one step further with a romper:

Celeste Stripe Floral Embo Romper ($58)

Change it up a little bit with an embroidered romper. Mix these trends to create something totally new!

Darling Denim

Darling Denim

If there is one fabric that anyone can pull off at any time of the year, it's denim. This fabric has withheld the test of time! Every season, a new varient of this fabric is released or sometimes the same thing stays in style for years. In the world of denim, these are what's trendy now:

Vests

($34)

Vests are here, and we are SO ready for them! Wearing a denim vest with some jeans is a much better way to wear denim on denim than Britney and Justin wore it circa 2001. Sorry but not sorry, Britney and Justin. That was a bad choice and you all know it. Anyway, this updated combo is defintely on trend and leaves room to add a statement necklace or other jewlery piece.

Tops

Chambray Summer Pom Pom Shoulder Top- Denim ($26)

Let's see if we can spot the trends on this top.

1. Denim (obviously, amazing)

2. Off the shoulder (OMG! Our favorite)

3. Tassels/ Fringe (LOVE!!)

So basically what we're saying is, this top is great and a staple piece for your wardrobe. It checks off THREE style boxes! We're obsessed.

Bottoms

Denim Stripe Ruffle Shorts ($34)

All we can say about these shorts are- YES. Yes to denim, yes to the fit, yes to the ruffles. We love them so much we would wear them everyday if we could.

Check us out in store or online for updates on the denim trend. We'll also keep you updated on our social media, so follow us on there too!

Until next time,

xoxo,

Tassels Here, Tassels Everywhere

Tassels Here, Tassels Everywhere

You've probably noticed them, they've crossed state borders, they're spreading... tassels. That's right. Summer's newest fashion trend has made it into Dress & Dwell and we're pretty happy about it.

Stop thinking this accessory is only for grandma curtains and graduation caps. These fun little pops of color add a touch youthfulness. Check out what's made it into the store that could also make it into your summer wardrobe.

Maggy Tassel Off Shoulder Top- Moss and White ($48)

Tassles and off the shoulder? How much better could this get! This top is so cute for a casual day with friends or family. The black tassels add a pinch of playfulness while still keeping it sophisticated. It's perfect in our book.

Bell Sleeve Embroidery Tassel Top ($58)

Another example of playful but sophisticated tassel-ing. This top brings out a good mix of boho-girly style. We could see wearing this top to somewhere light and breezy. Maybe use it as an excuse for a beach trip?

The best news about tassels are that you can add them to anything with accessories. Check it out: tassel heaven.

Tassels on Bags

Assorted Clutches ($38)

Tassels on Earrrings

Find these and more tassels online and in the store!

Until next time,

xoxo,

Sweet Like Ice Cream

Sweet Like Ice Cream

I don't know about you guys, but we've noticed a sweet trend. Somehow pastels have bridged the gap between spring and summer trends. That's right, pastels are in for summer 2017. Another trend is minimalism. We know, we know, de-cessorizing is hard. But as they say, beauty is pain, emotional pain too. It's not all bad though! Here are some ideas to make your wardrobe as sweet as ice cream this summer.

Lace Peplum Top ($34)

Okay, how cute is this mint top? Pairing it with a neutral jean is the perfect way to achieve maximum minimalism .

Pretty Penelia Dress ($118)

This color is a-maz-ing. Why haven't we swooned over this sky blue before? This dress also flaunts a light and breezy fabric that is ideal for a hot and sticky day. You know by now how much we love our off the shoulder looks. One word to sum up this dress? Everything.

Ruffle Tshirt Dress- Peach ($34)

Did somebody say peach ice cream? Yum! Feel absolutely peachy keen in this tshirt dress. It is super comfortable for any body shape.

Remember to keep cool this summer!

Until next time,

xoxo,

Dress & Dwell

Wedding Guests Dressed to Impress

Wedding Guests Dressed to Impress

It's wedding season! June and July are notoriously packed with what can seem like an endless stream of weddings. If you need some help or just some inspiration to get through the month of July, look no further. Here are three looks we love for weddings.

Look One

Dark Coral Lace Dress ($48)

Lace is in this wedding season! This super comfortable dress makes the perfect feminine statement... it's also good to twirl around in. We can confirm feeling like a princess for a night can never disappoint. Fun jewlery and nude shoes complete the look.
  Beaded Teardrop Necklace ($18)

 The Betty Heel ($30.95)

Look Two

Sweet Peachy Summertime Dress ($48)

Aren't you obsessed with this off the shoulder look? One of our favorite fashion rules is less is more. Go for a classic look with a punch of summer color. Accessories are defintely optional for this look. Like our girl Coco said,

Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.

Look Three

Zinnia Off Shoulder Midi Dress ($128)

Okay, okay, we admit we're obsessed with off the shoulder tops and dresses. But come on! Look how cute. This dress is good for a chillier summer night because it's light weight, but has more coverage. Toss on some simple flats or heels and BAM, you're fabulous.

That's all for now. Go rock that dancefloor!

 Until next time,

xoxo,

Dress & Dwell
